Responsibilities

The Inside Sales Representative will handle a blend of inbound and outbound calls (no cold calling!) generated through various marketing tactics while delivering prompt, accurate and exceptional customer service to customers. Respond to all inquiries and follow-ups in a timely manner while meeting or exceeding sales, quality and time service goals.

 

  1. Handle and process sales leads within established service standards and quality guidelines. Sales leads are generated by various marketing efforts to include online, television, radio and direct mail advertising and may be inbound calls on a toll-free number and outbound calls in response to requests for information.
  2. Conduct a needs-based analysis of coverage for all potential customers. Demonstrate a knowledgeable and thought-full approach to customer needs and present a plan that is appropriate and uphold company core values in how we deliver services.
  3. Promote the benefits, coverage and terms of products to potential customers before closing the sale. Maximize opportunities to cross-sell and up-sell supplemental products. Ensure customer understanding with detailed approach to explaining company products, services, best practices, and financial strength.
  4. Maintain accurate knowledge of products and core competitors through market research.   Acquire industry intelligence on competitor products, rates, sales, and strategies.
  5. Complete applications, mandatory forms and all other necessary documents to complete the sale. Obtain customer demographics, health assessment, non-medical and financial risk factors required for quote and sale.
  6. Quote and offer professional recommendation of coverage based on underwriting rating class and thorough needs analysis. Quote is subject to underwriting approval and may require reselling coverage at a different rating class.
  7. Maintain follow-up appointments for calls not closed in call center CRM.
  8. Maintain accurate client records using Excel Spreadsheets, Client Record Management systems and various contact management tactics.
  9. Participate in weekly sales meetings and performance reviews with sales management.
  10. Consistently meet and/or exceed monthly sales targets, company objectives, and quality metrics.
  11. Process all other duties as assigned by department management.

Qualifications

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Life insurance license in home state, preferred

Must obtain the required state license with the time period designated by the company

 

Experience/Knowledge

3+ years experience in a sales related position

Experience working in a sales environment, preferably in an inbound/outbound call center using computers and navigating among multiple systems and screens

 

Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including well developed interpersonal skills

Strong relationship management skills

Thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy call center environment

Demonstrated time management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Ability to work independently and within a collaborative environment

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel)

Flexibility to work 8 hour shifts within the Call Center operating hours of Monday through Sunday from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm (or as business demands). All shifts will include evenings and/or weekends.

 

What’s in it for you?

 

The expected hiring compensation range for this position is $38,000 annually plus commission (average total compensation including commission typically averages between $55,000 and $65,000). This role will be working in a hybrid environment with up to 3 days in office per week.

 

The total compensation package for this position may include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, long term incentives, and annual bonuses.  This role is eligible to participate in the Legal & General America Annual Incentive Plan. This role has 10 vacation days and 10 sick days that are accrued on a bi-weekly basis. Employees also have 9 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
